T. 5-21 : „Leif‘s theme“
Leif ist mit Thorgunna verheiratet und hat mir ihr zwei Kinder (Thorgils und Thorkell). Sein Beiname ist „der Glückliche“. Leif wird ein hitziges Temperament zugeschrieben, aber er ist vor allem für seine Kenntnisse in der Seefahrt bekannt.
T. 22-41 : „Departure to the new world“
Als Seefahrer ist Leif oft auf hoher See. Er ist ein willensstarker Mann.
T. 42-47: „Land in sight!“
Auf einer seiner Reisen entdeckt Leif unbekanntes Land.
T. 48-63: „Vinland“
Das neu entdeckte Land – Vinland – ist Leif gänzlich unbekannt. Es gibt Vieles zu entdecken und zu erforschen.
T. 64-71 : „Way back home“
Die Reise geht zurück in die Heimat.
T. 72-94: „Leif, the explorer“
Leif Eriksson hat einen fixen Platz in der Geschichte der Seefahrt und der Entdeckung Amerikas.
The work is divided into six sections:
T. 5–21: “Leif’s Theme”
Leif is married to Thorgunna and has two children with her (Thorgils and Thorkell). His epithet is “the Lucky.” Leif is said to have a fiery temperament, but he is best known for his knowledge of seafaring.
T. 22–41: “Departure to the New World”
As a seafarer, Leif is often on the high seas. He is a strong-willed man.
T. 42–47: “Land in Sight!”
On one of his voyages, Leif discovers an unknown land.
T. 48–63: “Vinland”
The newly discovered land—Vinland—is entirely unfamiliar to Leif. There is much to discover and explore.
T. 64–71: “Way Back Home”
The journey leads back to his homeland.
T. 72–94: “Leif, the Explorer”
Leif Eriksson holds a permanent place in the history of seafaring and the discovery of America.
