Florian Moitzi wurde am 11. September 1979 in Linz geboren. Seine musikalische Laufbahn begann mit den Instrumenten Flöte, Klarinette und Klavier und wurde mit dem Saxophon zur Berufung.
Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Volks- und Sonderschullehrer studierte er an der „Anton Bruckner Privat Universität“ Jazz-Saxophon bei Harry Sokal, Gerald Preinfalk und Florian Bramböck.
Erste Erfahrungen im Komponieren machte er bei diversen Workshops und seinem Schwerpunktstudium bei Christoph Cech.
Durch seine Funktion als Jugendleiter und Kapellmeister-Stellvertreter der Marktmusik Scharnstein Redtenbacher kam er zum Komponieren für Orchester.
Florian Moitzi ist in mehreren Jazz-Formationen als Solo-Saxophonist tätig und erhält regelmäßig Auftragskompositionen für Big-Bands, Chöre, Blasorchester und kleinere Ensembles.

Florian Moitzi was born on September 11, 1979, in Linz. His musical path began with flute, clarinet, and piano and eventually found its true calling with the saxophone.
Alongside his work as an elementary and special education teacher, he studied jazz saxophone at the Anton Bruckner Private University with Harry Sokal, Gerald Preinfalk, and Florian Bramböck.
He gained his first experience in composition through various workshops and during specialized studies with Christoph Cech.
Through his role as youth director and deputy bandmaster of the Scharnstein Redtenbacher Town Band (Marktmusik Scharnstein Redtenbacher), he began composing for orchestra.
Florian Moitzi performs as a solo saxophonist in several jazz ensembles and regularly receives composition commissions for big bands, choirs, wind orchestras, and smaller ensembles.
