Alexander Kral wurde 1982 in Wien geboren.
Er lernte zunächst Klavier und Klarinette und besuchte das Musikgymnasium in Wien. Schon während der Schulzeit studierte er Tonsatz und Komposition am Konservatorium der Stadt Wien bei Christian Minkowitsch, das er 2005 mit dem Diplom abschloss.
Nach der Matura 2002 war er ein Jahr als Klarinettist und Arrangeur bei der Gardemusik in Wien tätig.
Es folgte das Dirigierstudium an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien bei Uros Lajovic, welches er 2009 mit dem Magistertitel abschloss.
Seit August 2009 ist er als Assistent des Chordirektors an der Kölner Oper tätig.

Alexander Kral was born in 1982 in Vienna.
He first learned piano and clarinet and attended the music-focused secondary school (Musikgymnasium) in Vienna. While still at school he studied theory and composition at the Vienna Conservatory with Christian Minkowitsch, graduating with a diploma in 2005.
After completing his secondary school exams in 2002 he spent a year as a clarinetist and arranger with the Guards Band (Gardemusik) in Vienna. He then studied conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Uroš Lajovic, earning a master’s degree in 2009.
Since August 2009 he has been working as assistant to the chorus director at the Cologne Opera.
