Franz Peter Cibulka (1946) war Professor für Klarinette, Kammermusik und Musiktheorie am Johann Joseph Fux Konservatorium in Graz und ist seit Juli 2002 freischaffender Komponist.
An der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Graz absolvierte er die Studienfächer Klarinette, Komposition und Orchesterleitung.
Sein Werkverzeichnis umfasst mehr als 300 Kompositionen in unterschiedlichster Besetzung und Stilistik, da die Werke immer auf Wunsch und Anregung von diversen Interpreten unter Berücksichtigung ihrer musikalischen Vorstellungen entstanden sind.
Durch Aufführungen seiner Werke im Rahmen der WASBE-1997 in Schladming gelang ihm der internationale Durchbruch und war in den vergangenen Jahren in Australien, Amerika, Russland und vielen europäischen Staaten als Komponist, Dirigent, Interpret und Referent eingeladen.

Franz Peter Cibulka (1946) was professor of clarinet, chamber music, and music theory at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz and had worked as a freelance composer since July 2002.
At the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz he completed studies in clarinet, composition, and orchestral conducting.
His catalogue of works comprises more than 300 compositions in a wide range of instrumentations and styles, as each piece was created at the request and suggestion of various performers, taking their musical ideas into account.
With performances of his works at the 1997 WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) conference in Schladming, he achieved international recognition, and in the following years he was invited as composer, conductor, performer, and lecturer in Australia, America, Russia, and many European countries.
Franz Cibulka passed away on June 27, 2016.
