Lebenslauf
Matthias Achleitner (*15. Oktober 2002 in Wels) ist Dirigent aus Aichkirchen bei Lambach (OÖ). Mit sechs Jahren begann er Klavier, mit acht Trompete zu spielen. 2017 startete er den Dirigierkurs bei Thomas Doss, schloss 2020 mit Auszeichnung ab und wurde seither von Prof. Georg Mark (MUK Wien) unterrichtet. Früh als Komponist aktiv, brachte er 2019 sein Werk “Musikerleben” im Brucknerhaus Linz zur Uraufführung.
Während der Schulzeit am Linzer Musikgymnasium leitete er mehrere Orchesterprojekte, darunter zwei Erasmus+-Projekte mit Prag, Beethovens 5. Symphonie und Dvořáks 9. Symphonie. 2021 gründete er die OBERÖSTERREICH PHILHARMONIE, die u. a. beim Gründungskonzert in der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität, beim Benefizkonzert für die Ukraine und im großen Saal des Brucknerhauses (2024, Saint-Saëns Orgelsymphonie) auftrat. Silvester- und Neujahrskonzerte im Palais KV Linz sind mittlerweile Tradition; 2025 folgt eine Konzertserie zu Johann Strauß’ 200. Geburtstag.
Seit 2022 wirkt Achleitner am Stadttheater Bad Hall. Er dirigierte u. a. Lehárs Die lustige Witwe, Das Land des Lächelns, Leo Falls Der fidele Bauer sowie Mozarts Die Zauberflöte und Così fan tutte – Beginn eines fünfjährigen Mozartzyklus. 2025 stehen Benatzkys Im weißen Rössl und Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro am Programm.
Als Pianist trat er etwa mit Gershwins Rhapsody in Blue und Rachmaninows 2. Klavierkonzert auf. Er studiert Chordirigieren bei Alois Glaßner und Orchesterdirigieren bei Mark Stringer an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

Matthias Achleitner (*October 15, 2002, Wels, Austria) is a conductor from Aichkirchen near Lambach (Upper Austria). He began piano at six and trumpet at eight. In 2017 he started conducting studies with Thomas Doss, graduating with distinction in 2020, and has since been mentored by Prof. Georg Mark (MUK Vienna). Early on he composed and premiered his work Musikerleben in 2019 at the Brucknerhaus Linz.
During his years at Linz Music High School he directed several orchestra projects, including two Erasmus+ collaborations with Prague, Beethoven’s 5th Symphony and Dvořák’s 9th Symphony. In 2021 he founded the OBERÖSTERREICH PHILHARMONIE, which has performed at the Anton Bruckner Private University, a Ukraine benefit concert, and made its Brucknerhaus debut in 2024 with Saint-Saëns’s Organ Symphony. Its New Year’s concerts in Linz have become an annual tradition; in 2025 the orchestra will present a Johann Strauss anniversary series.
Since 2022 Achleitner has worked at the Stadttheater Bad Hall, conducting productions such as Lehár’s The Merry Widow, The Land of Smiles, Leo Fall’s The Merry Farmer, and Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Così fan tutte—launching a five-year Mozart cycle. Upcoming are Benatzky’s The White Horse Inn and Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro.
As a pianist he has appeared with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Rachmaninov’s 2nd Piano Concerto. He currently studies choral conducting with Alois Glaßner and orchestral conducting with Mark Stringer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
