Geboren 1944. Oboenstudium an der Wiener Musikakademie bei Hans Hadamowsky.
1970-2004 Mitglied des Wiener Staatsopernorchesters und der Wiener Philharmoniker, seit 1978 als Solooboist.
Seit 2005 Professor für Ensemblespiel am Institut für Blas- und Schlaginstrumente der Kunstuniversität Graz. Seit frühester Jugend widmete er sich der Kammermusik. Ensembles, denen er zurzeit angehört, sind das Freiherr von Eichendorff-Bläserquintett, das Trio Douze und die Pannonische Harmonie.

From 1970 to 2004 member of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic, serving as principal oboist since 1978.
Since 2005 professor of ensemble performance at the Institute for Wind and Percussion Instruments of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. From early youth he devoted himself to chamber music.
Ensembles he currently belongs to include the Freiherr von Eichendorff Wind Quintet, the Trio Douze, and the Pannonian Harmonie.
